CBS television aired a story on the Yellow Ribbon Fund on Thanksgiving evening, 2006, at 7 p.m. and the next day on the 5 a.m. newscast. Reporter Susan Roberts of the local Washington CBS affiliate, WUSA Channel 9, interviewed two families who have been helped by the Yellow Ribbon Fund: Dr. Harry Kinard, father of Marine LT Andrew Kinard, a patient at the National Naval Medical Center, and SGT John Fuller, a member of the California National Guard and a patient of Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
